DE PE A PA
PEDRO CARCURO - HOST.

PEDRO: Good evening. Thank you. We have tonight, an excellent, brilliant program. We now begin De Pé A Pá. I'd like to tell you something.

- PEDRO HOLDS IN HIS HAND, A GLASS OF CHAMPAGNE -

How long do you think it takes to get to this? Four-hundred years!
Yes! The grapes used to make this Pisco Mistral come directly from vines brought to Chile by Jesuit monks, over four centuries ago. This is the best, premium pisco (crop) in the world! Pisco Mistral! A work of Art! Salud!

And now I'd like to make a toast to our great invited guest. He's an exceptional human being and is visiting De Pé A Pá tonight. Only 72 hours ago, he had a very particular encounter, once again, with Chile. This happened on his first performance in San Carlos De Apoquindo. Thus, in this manner, we are welcoming: Chayanne!

- AT THIS TIME, IMAGES OF CHAYANNE'S CONCERT IN SAN CARLOS, ARE SHOWN -

PEDRO: Let me ask you. Are you satisfied with the clip you just viewed?

- AUDIENCE SHOUTING: NOOOOO! -

PEDRO: We have here, live, tonight in De Pé A Pá: CHAYANNE!

- A STANDING OVATION (AND SCREAMS) FROM THE AUDIENCE -- CHAYANNE APPEARS AND THE AUDIENCE STARTS CHANTING:"MIJITO RICO" "MIJITO RICO" - (WHICH BASICALLY TRANSLATES TO "DELICIOUS CHILD" BUT YOU CAN USE YOUR IMAGINATION AND MAKE IT DELICIOUS ANYTHING!)

PEDRO: In San Carlos, they also called you "Mijito Rico." What did you answer them?

CHAY: I sang back "Mijitas Ricas."

PEDRO: Let's warm up the engines immediately! Let's start this night singing. Chayanne!

- CHAYANNE SINGS YO TE AMO. HE THEN PROCEEDS TO TAKE A SEAT ACROSS FROM PEDRO -

CHAY: One can't help sweating. Even if it's a ballad.

PEDRO: Chayanne, reading your biography, I found a few facts that ratify the affection that women in particular, and even more interesting, men, have for you. And it showed in the clip we saw at the beginning of the show.

In 1993, in the USA, you appeared in People Magazine, as one of the 50 most beautiful men in the world. Do you consider yourself beautiful?

CHAY: Absolutely not! What happened was that the magazine had a special sale going, and we got a pretty good discount. We got a good deal with the price of the pages. No, that was an edition that was done and in error, one of my pages just happened to fall right in.

But, no. I don't feel I'm beautiful. What I feel I am is super latino. That's what I feel. To treat a woman like a woman. Opening doors for them. Be attentive. That's what I was taught. Pull out a chair, still. Be polite. Be well mannered. That's what is appreciated.

PEDRO: Have breeding? Be gallant?

CHAY: Yes. Well mannered. Be gallant. Without egos, without being presumptuous. You do those things for the love that you have for the person you're with.

PEDRO: Be flirtatious?

CHAY: I think flirting is harmless. When is done in fun is very nice. When there's an exchange of certain looks, the smiles, the....

- SCREAMS FROM THE AUDIENCE -

PEDRO: Look at the Chilean women. They want to show.....

CHAY: They are beautiful!

PEDRO: I asume you didn't get to see the clip we showed at the beginning of the program, since you were getting ready to come out. I want to show you, so you'll see the reaction, not only from the audience here in the studio, but also from the people that were in San Carlos the other night. Take a look....

CHAY: People are wonderful....

- AT THIS POINT, PEDRO SHOWS CHAYANNE THE SAME CLIP THAT WAS SEEN AT THE BEGINNING OF THE PROGRAM, WITH THE DIFFERENT COMMENTS BY SEVERAL PEOPLE. HERE ARE A COUPLE OF THEM: "HE'S WONDERFUL." "SPECTACULAR.""I LOVE HIM." "I GO HOME WITH MY BATTERIES CHARGED." AN ELDERLY LADY SAYING: "I ADORE HIM." AND THIS COMMENT MADE BY A MAN: "HE'S EXQUISITE."
TO THIS COMMENT, THE AUDIENCE SHOUTS AND APPLAUDS. CHAYANNE CAN BE HEARD REACTING TO THE COMMENTS: -

CHAY: The older lady, saying "I adore him." And what was the comment about the batteries?

- AFTER THE CLIP WAS OVER -

CHAY: How beautiful!

PEDRO: Here in Chile, even the men, Chayanne....

CHAY: Pedro, do you know, I'm lucky, because when you go to my show, you see couples, and that is great. Because there are a couple of female dancers for the men to enjoy during the show!
No, that's a joke. Men enjoy the show. It's good that they go. I'm lucky also, that three different generations attend. Just now when we saw the clip, I saw the older lady. I see the grandmother, the mother and the daughter. The audience that goes to my shows is beautiful!

PEDRO: But Chayanne, we also receive a lot from these shows. Didn't you hear what that young woman said, "I go home with my batteries charged."

CHAY: Is that what she said?

PEDRO: So, you see, it works both ways.

CHAY: A lot of times, at the airport, going through customs, or when I'm at the hotel, a lot of men ask me for autographs. It's something harmless. They ask for the young daughters, for the wives. For the wife and the girlfriend, well, two different men asking.

PEDRO: Do you remember the first time you came to Chile?

CHAY: The first time I came to Chile, I went to Viña Del Mar. I've always said that back then, not even my own mother knew me. No one knew me and so I had the opportunity to see and get to know a little about Chile. I walked through the Peatonal.

PEDRO: Do you know what year that was?

CHAY: I think it was...it must be 1986?

PEDRO: It was 1988. Look, I'm going to show you. When you arrived at the airport, 1988.

CHAY: What is it.....

- A VIDEO CLIP OF CHAYANNE ARRIVING IN CHILE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 1988, IS SHOWN. HERE ONE CAN HEAR THE COMMENTS CHAYANNE MADE AND THE ANSWERS HE GAVE THE PERSON INTERVIEWING HIM. CHAYANNE SPEAKS:

"All this affection! I've just arrived from a flight that lasted more than 20 hours. The beautiful welcome I'm receiving. It's wonderful, truly.

INTERVIEWER: What do you think about being one of the judges?

CHAYANNE: Beautiful. It's a wonderful experience, being a judge. And specially here in La Quinta in Viña Del Mar. It is well known, not only here, locally, but also in all of Latin América. And I'm very happy to be here and be able to share with other artists.

INTERVIEWER: Are you are going to perform also?

CHAYANNE: Yes. I'm going to perform one night. I'm going to perform one night!

- ANOTHER CLIP FROM THE SAME VISIT, DIFFERENT TIME, IS SHOWN. QUESTION AND ANSWER:

"Chayanne, did you know anything about Viña Del Mar?

"Yes, of course. This festival is very well known in all of Latin América. It is one of the most important festivals in the world. I was invited to participate as a judge. I loved the idea, and here I am."

- THERE ARE A COUPLE OF CLIPS. ONE IS WHEN THEY INTRODUCE THE JUDGES AND CHAYANNE IS INTRODUCED. ANOTHER IS WHEN HE RECEIVES AN AWARD. HE THEN IS SHOWN PERFORMING FIESTA IN AMERICA. AND THEN HE MAKES THIS SHORT SPEECH:

"This really means a lot to me. I know that this beautiful award you have given me, I will carry in my heart forever. These are the only words I can say to you. Thank you very much, Chile. And my heart will remain in La Quinta. Thank you!"

- BACK IN THE STUDIO OF DE PE A PA -

CHAY: So long ago!

PEDRO: Do you find yourself moved, embarrassed?

CHAY: I'm embarrassed. That was 15 years ago?

PEDRO: -ASKING THE AUDIENCE - Does he look better then or now?
"NOW."

CHAY: It's very exciting. I feel great affection for Chile. Chile has been there for me all along. They know my history. Right now, when they were showing Fiesta In América, there was a little chorus over there....They are very special moments. Chile has seen all the developments my career has experienced.

PEDRO: During that first visit to Chile in 1988 when you say no one knew you, in that clip we saw when you are being interviewed at the airport by Mike Miller, who had more hair back then...Your fans were few then, but they were true fans. They were the first fans that were in fact, discovering you.

CHAY: I would say to myself...there are only few but they are very hot! But in the good sense of the word! They are truly vibrant and have a great heart!

PEDRO: During that time, when you weren't that well known and you didn't need bodyguards, you had the luxury to go anywhere. You went to visit the fishermen. Do you remember?

CHAY: I remember, I remember...

PEDRO: Look, these are beautiful memories...

A VIDEO CLIP OF CHAYANNE IS SHOWN. HE'S SEEN WALKING AMONG THE DIFFERENT STANDS WHERE THE FISHERMEN ARE DISPLAYING THEIR PRODUCTS. CHAYANNE APPROACHES ONE OF THE TABLES AND STARTS A CONVERSATION WITH THE MAN. CHAYANNE PICKS UP A COUPLE OF FISH, AND THESE ARE HIS COMMENTS:

CHAYANNE: Look here, they have their mouth open. Are these clean? Are they ready to eat? You're very kind, thank you. You do fish, don't you? What is this? Ah, Merlusa. That's pure vitality, isn't?

- AT THIS COMMENT, THE AUDIENCE LAUGHS -

CHAYANNE, MOVING ON: How are you? Yes, I'm here for Viña DelMar. Today, I'm going to perform, but this time I'm here to serve as one of the judges. Of course I will eat the fish you choose for me. Ciao. Good morning. How are you? Is that a shark? Yes, it is small, but it is a shark!

CHAYANNE MOVES ALONG, AND A REPORTER CAN BE HEARD
MAKING THE FOLLOWING COMMENTARY:

"After the conversations with the fishermen, Chayanne spends a few moments signing authographs, and then, to show that he also likes to help, he joins some of the fishermen pushing the boats out of the water. He then asks the young people that have been walking with him, if hecould have a few moments alone to stop and reflect in front of the statue of St. Peter, patron saint of the fishermen, who looks out towards the sea, from its pedestal. With his spirit at peace, Chayanne remembers that more than two hours have passed since he had breakfast, and among the fishermen that are opening clams, he takes the opportunity to try the seafood, that, according to him, is the most famous around the world. At first, it was curiosity that made him taste the clams, but he ended up eating 18! The visit has lasted more than two hours, and it ends, of course, with a song."

CHAYANNE SAYS GOODBYE, BUT NOT BEFORE URGING THE YOUNG PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING HIM, TO JOIN HIM IN SINGING "FIESTA IN AMERICA."

- BACK IN THE STUDIO OF DE PE A PA -

PEDRO: Life was really different during that almost anonymous period in your life. Is life more complicated now that you are ultra famous?

CHAY: No, Pedro. I continue enjoying my life. That was a spontaneous moment that people, themselves, give you. When I have the opportunity, I go out. Now, I can't go out like I used to, of course. Perhaps now it's not possible to just go anywhere without first planning your visits. Now, if I want to go some place, I go directly there and back. And then, there is also the time factor. There are now too many countries to visit, more responsibilities, much more work. But I enjoy myself, I enjoy myself. Just today, I went somewhere, and people would stop me. I was doing whatever I was doing, and as I went along, I was signing autographs, and I really had a great time. That's life. We are human beings. Here, we are all the same. It just so happens that my profession is being a singer and I will continue on.

PEDRO: And in your tours through Chile, have you again, eaten 18 clams?

CHAY: No! I had more than enough. I'm still running on the energy of those 18 I ate! I love the Chilean cuisine. It's wonderful. Just today, I ate erizos (sea urchins).

PEDRO: They are more aphrodesiac than clams, still!

CHAY: They have a very particular taste. Either you like them or you hate them, and I like them!

PEDRO: We saw in the footage from 15 years ago, when you prayed to St. Peter, patron saint of the fishermen. Has religion been a part of your life, since childhood?

CHAY: Yes. When I was five years old, I started singing in church, and so did my brother and sister. It was instilled in us, going to church, prayers. That comes from being a family. It comes from my mother and father. Perhaps now I don't attend church as often as I did before, but I believe in God, and I'm with him.

PEDRO: What did you sing in church all those years ago?

CHAY: What did I sing? So many songs! But now, I can't think of any...

- CHAYANNE SINGS A BRIEF VERSE OF AVE MARIA -

PEDRO: All this happened some 20 years ago, in a town by the name of San Lorenzo, right? We have these images...

- NEXT, THEY PRESENT A CLIP OF CHAYANNE'S HOMETOWN, SAN LORENZO. AND THE CLIP CONTAINS BRIEF STATEMENTS MADE BY THREE PEOPLE, RESIDENTS OF SAN LORENZO, WHO HAVE KNOWN CHAYANNE SINCE HIS CHILDHOOD. IT ALSO CONTAINS IMAGES OF THE HOUSE HE GREW UP IN. THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HE ATTENDED, AND THE CHURCH WHERE HE BEGAN SINGING. HERE IS THE COMMENTARY HEARD WHILE THE IMAGES WERE BEING SHOWN:

"To arrive to San Lorenzo, one must drive right through the heart of this town. And that's because the only route into town is the express highway that is named after Chayanne. Surrounded by the humbleness that emanates from San Lorenzo, his native town, Elmer Figueroa Arce, lived the few first years of his life in this home, full of love and affection. His elementary school years, he spent at this school, named Manuel Cruz, in the neighborhood of Espino. And this classroom was witness to the second grade of the pampered child of Puerto Rico."

- AT THIS TIME, AN ELDERLY GENTLEMAN APPEARS ON CAMERA -

" I'm almost 83 years old and I've known him since he was a child.Since he was student here. From the beginning, working hard. Humble, poor. Humble. We continue being friends, almost like family."

- THIS TIME, A LADY ALSO IS SHOWN MAKING A STATEMENT -

"He once spent New Year's Eve here with us, in our home. He's a wonderful young man. Very kind."

- THE REPORTER CONTINUES WITH THE COMMENTARY:

"Coincidences do occurr, and precisely, the current secretary of the school, is someone who knew Chayanne as a student and she remembers how Chayanne would run around the halls of this school."

- THIS IS THE SECRETARY SPEAKING:

"He was playful. He was very polite. Very helpful. Respectful. During recess, there were always activities and already back then he showed how talented he was, since he was very young."

- BACK TO THE COMMENTARY -

"He began singing very young, being part of the chorus in church, and then he became one of the greatest symbols of our island."

- BACK TO THE ELDERLY GENTLEMAN -

"I wish him luck, health, and I hope he comes back soon and comes tosee us so he can entertain us a little. We want to see you here, in the streets of San Lorenzo."

- BACK IN THE STUDIO OF DE PE A PA -

PEDRO: We have prepared this with much affection for you. From De Pé A Pá, via satellite, a small homage for you.

CHAY: That little school I attended... my mother was the teacher. The school was built of wood, and now I see it's made of cement. It's wonderful. But, that's life. But the people of Puerto Rico are divine, very spontaneous. Of course I will go over there.

PEDRO: You don't go very often. You probably don't have the time now to maybe go and meet that 80-year old friend.

CHAY: No, no. I do go to Puerto Rico! I do go to Puerto Rico! What happens now is that I don't have much time, as I mentioned earlier. I go see my mami, my papi, and I go to be with my siblings. Really, I can say I go to Puerto Rico three times during the year. I go for two or three days, and then during Christmas, I'm able to spend two weeks. In other words, the time I'm able to spend there is very short, but I do see a lot of people. In Puerto Rico, everyone is very friendly. We are used to always be kind and polite to one another. There's a lot of good will among the people :"May God Be with You." "Good luck." All that, I still experience and I'm part of.

PEDRO: Your hometown, your family... they have always been very important to you. Your mother. She's always present in your life. You said earlier that you go see your mother. She hasn't been in very good health. I imagine that's a permanent worry for you during your tours and your traveling.

CHAY: Yes. Mami is fine. We were raised in a way that, when one is more or less okay, we are to say that we are fine. The condition she is going through right now, is very difficult. But we are all with her. It's like pounding on an invisible wall, this illness for which there's no cure, and for which, day after a day, you try to find the way to
resolve it and find a cure. So then, she's stable for now, and I always go and see her and be with her. It's a very difficult moment, and it is a moment of struggle, butwe are fine. My family also, my family is what what keeps me grounded. They are lovely people. And I have their unconditional support. They are precious.

PEDRO: You keep yourself close, tied to your roots, your family. You haven't forgotten....

CHAY: No, of course not. It's my life. It's my truth. My reality. I love them. And traditions are maintain in my home. Thanksgiving. Christmas. Mother's Day, Father's Day. And those moments, when I have a littletime, I always escape and I'm with them. I don't let too much time goby, because today, they are here, with me. Tomorrow, I don't know if they will be. So, that's why I always try to be with them. I have my family in Miami. It's difficult, but one tries to do what one can.

PEDRO: Chayanne, what about the times where you are going through some difficult moments, when something is bothering you and you have to go on with your performance. Is it difficult to project joy on stage?

CHAY: Yes. But once you are on stage...for example, before the show, when I'm at the hotel, I try to relax and focus on the show. I try to find peace, because if you take with you these difficult moments that happen in life, an illness...it can affect your performance. But being on stage is another thing. It's wonderful. When you see the audience giving you the energy -because my show is the audience - everything goes away and you forget. You think only of what you're doing.

PEDRO: I'd like to turn back the pages once again, and show you the very first video you made. Take a look...

CHAY: No!

- NEXT, A VIDEO CLIP OF A VERY YOUNG CHAYANNE IS SHOWN. HE'S SITTING DOWN, LEANING AGAINST A WHITE, TALL COLUMN, THAT IS PART OF A BUILDING AT A PUBLIC PARK. HE'S WRITING A LETTER HOME, AND AS HE WRITES, ONE CAN HEAR HIS THOUGHTS ALOUD. HE SMILES AS HE DESCRIBES THIS BEAUTIFUL GIRL HE HAS MET AND FALLEN IN LOVE WITH. THE CLIP THEN SHOWS HIM PLAYING AROUND THE PARK WITH A BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL. SHE'S APPROX. ONE YEAR OLD AND ISBEGINNING TO TAKE HER FIRST STEPS. HIS SONG, JANA, IS PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND. THESE ARE THE CONTENTS OF THE LETTER:

"...And how are my little brothers? Tell them to behave. Tell them to stay in school. Education is what matters most in this world, and the children are our future. Everyday, I walk through the park, and I've met a beautiful girl. I've fallen madly in love with her. Her name is Jana."

- BACK TO THE STUDIOS OF DE PE A PA -

CHAY: That clip was done only two years ago! I still look the same, it's just that this new look makes me look different!

PEDRO: I believe that was done in 1987. It was done before you came to Chile?

CHAY: That was 1986. It was taped in Spain, at a park. She was Jana, the daughter of the man that was my manager at that time. The reason the video was done, is because the song, Jana, was dedicated to her.

PEDRO: Chayanne, singing is part of a video, but acting is also involved. Which do you prefer? If right now, you had to choose between the two...

CHAY: I like to do both. I recorded my first song when I was 10 years old. I made my first movie when I was 12. I've been able to balance the two aspects of my career, although the acting has taken second place. But if I had to choose, I'll say music because that's what I've concentrated on and have dedicated more time to. But I also like acting.

PEDRO: What memories do you hold of your participation in the movie Dance With Me?

CHAY: Very wonderful memories. Beginning with all the people I worked with.
From my work with Vanessa Williams to the......to the production, the director, the......

- AT THIS POINT, IMAGES OF THE MOVIE APPEAR ON THE SCREEN. THE AUDIENCE GOES WILD WHEN THEY SHOW THE LOVE SCENE BETWEEN CHAYANNE AND VANESSA WILLIAMS IN THE BATHROOM -

PEDRO: "ATTACK! CHAYANNE!"

CHAY: It seems that the actor, in this scene, likes to smell things!

PEDRO: Is it true that you requested clams be sent to you from Chile, to tape this scene?

CHAY: The ones I ate when I was 15-16, still worked for me when we did that scene!

PEDRO: It's been said that when your wife....I've been told that she's is extremely jealous.

CHAY: She's not extremely jealous, but I think that what you love, you guard. And, of course, she is jealous. But, well, she knows me. She knows my career. She knows all that is part of my career and.........she has never commented on what she thinks! What can I say?

PEDRO: I want to tell you something about this program. In the seven years of De Pé A Pá, I've never seen so much anxiety, a battle as big as the one I've seen, from people trying to gain entrance to come and see you. Before the show, when I got here 20-25 minutes ago, I started walking among the audience, and I was surprised to see very important people here. For example, a very famous Chilean singer that you must know, Andrea Tessa, is here in the audience. There she is, Andrea!

CHAY: Hello!

PEDRO: Next to her, is the host of one the programs of this network, Titi García.And then, also here, is María José Campos. Do you know what María's nickname is? "The Green Porotito." And with us is also someone whois with us day after day, Bárbara Rebolledo. The reason I've made these, introductions, is because, for example, Porotito has become famous on Chilean television because of her dancing.

CHAY: Really? What type of dance? Dancing in general?

PEDRO: Modern. Very modern dance.

- THE SONG "MAYONNAISE" BY THE GROUP CHOCOLATE, STARTS PLAYING. THIS IS A VERY RHYTHMICAL AND SENSUAL SONG. CHAYANNE'S NEXT COMMENT IS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF THE OLD ADAGE: BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU ASK FOR! -

CHAY: That song is full of flavor. I want to see that dance!

PEDRO: Would you be willing to....

CHAY: To look.....

PEDRO: No, to dance with her for only one minute?
This is absolutely improvised. Absolutely improvised.

- PEDRO ASKS MARIA JOSE TO COME ONTO THE STAGE AND DANCE WITH CHAYANNE -

CHAY: Hello, María José, how are you?

MARIA: Hello. I've always wished I could dance with you one day!

CHAY: Hello. I'm just going to look....
Oh, I'm going to dance?

- MARIA JOSE STARTS A VERY SUGGESTIVE DANCE IN FRONT OF CHAYANNE. AT FIRST CHAYANNE TRIES TO MOVE AND JOIN IN THE DANCE, BUT HE LOOKS POSITIVELY EMBARRASED
AND FLUSTERED AND ALL HE MANAGES TO DO IS COVER HIS EYES, WHILE STILL TRYING TO DANCE TO THE MUSIC. PEDRO SEES THE PREDICAMENT CHAYANNE IS IN, AND HE DOESN'T
HELP THE SITUATION MUCH WHEN HE JOKINGLY ADDS: "CHAYANNE LOOKS A LITTLE FLUSHED! SOME CLAMS FOR CHAYANNE!" THE MUSIC FINALLY STOPS AND MARIA JOSE
ENDS HER DANCE. CHAYANNE CONGRATULATES HER AND GIVES HER A WARM HUG AND A KISS -

CHAY: You have excellent rhythm!

MARIA: I learned from the best!

CHAY: Thank you!

- MARIA JOSE LEAVES THE STAGE, AND PEDRO AND CHAYANNE TAKE A SEAT, ONCE AGAIN -

CHAY: I didn't know what to do! I said to myself, "You stay still. Stay still.
As long as you don't move, you'll look fine."

PEDRO: The taping of the video of Torero was something spectacular. I had the opportunity to watch it the other day. This video was made in Argentina.

CHAY: Yes. Torero was made in Argentina. It's part of the Grandes Exitos album. It was done while I was on tour. I participated in Viña Del Mar.

PEDRO: I'd like you to tell us how it was for you to do this video. Recording in the middle of the street is not easy. I'll show it to you in a minute, is that all right?

CHAY: Yes, yes, of course!

- PEDRO ADDRESSES THE CAMERA: "PLEASE STAY WITH US. WE ARE ENJOYING THE COMPANY OF A FRIEND. A TRULY SENSATIONAL FELLOW. PLEASANT. SIMPLE. AMIABLE. CHAYANNE IN DE PE A PA."

- THE PROGRAM CONTINUES -

PEDRO: Are you having a good time?

CHAY: A very good time.

PEDRO: We have shown you videos of your life. What surprised you the most during these last 30 minutes we have been sitting here.

CHAY: I liked seeing my hometown. And I'm looking over your shoulder....
- CHAYANNE REFERS TO MARIA JOSE -

No. I was very surprised by all the images of my past. Seeing the clips from Viña. The visit with the fishermen. I
remembered, of course, having visited with the fishermen, but after seeing the video, the images are now more clear for me.

PEDRO: Since we are talking about memories and surprises, tonight, truly, we are improvising. The part with María José was completely improvised. I'd like to call on Andrea Tessa. I'd like for her to sing. What do you
think?

CHAY: Yes, of course.

- AT THIS TIME, ANDREA TESSA JOINS PEDRO AND CHAYANNEON STAGE. SHE EMBRACES PEDRO AND THEN APPROACHES CHAYANNE, AT WHICH POINT, BOTH, ANDREA AND CHAYANNE
TALK, ALMOST SIMULTANEOUSLY, OUT OF EAR SHOT:

CHAYANNE: HELLO. I WAS WATCHING YOU OVER THERE...
ANDREA: IT'S BEEN YEARS....WHEN THEY STOLE MY WALLET.

ANDREA: No, were in a program together, a while back, and then we went out toeat to a place where my wallet was stolen. And we went looking for my wallet under the table, but that's all we did. That's all.

CHAY: The wallet never appeared.

ANDREA: No. It didn't.

PEDRO: What are you going to sing for Chayanne?

- ANDREA TURNS TOWARDS CHAYANNE AND STARTS SINGING COMPLETAMENTE ENAMORADOS. CHAYANNE JOINS HER BRIEFLY. THE SONG ENDS AND SHE EMBRACES CHAYANNEAND PEDRO ONCE AGAIN, AND LEAVES THE STAGE -

CHAYANNE, TO ANDREA, AS SHE LEAVES THE STAGE: Thewallet will show up one of this days!

ANDREA: No, it never appeared!

- PEDRO AND CHAYANNE TAKE A SEAT, ONCE AGAIN -

PEDRO: As we promised, I'd like to go now to the vide clip of Torero, so that you may describe for us, the process....

- IMAGES OF TORERO APPEAR ON THE SCREEN -

CHAY: Yes, of course. Well, we are on the Nueve De Julio Avenue. Theweather is extremely hot. It was over 100
degrees....well, here it's about 33F. It was extremely hot. I was wearing a leather jacket andthe man in charge of the wardrobe kept saying to me, "heat cannot be seen, the heat cannot be seen!" The video begins with me
walking, almost as if in a chase, then the motorcycle, and then I go searching until I find....

PEDRO: Was it difficult to do? All this was done during normal traffic hours inBuenos Aires, just like any other day, right?

CHAY: Yes, on a regular day. We began very early. We began taping at7 AM. But the people are extremely affectionate. Very cooperative. Very easy going. We were going through a difficult time in Argentina, when we were taping this video. But we received cooperation from everyone.

PEDRO: These people, are they extras on the set....

CHAY: These people are from the public. This is the everyday traffic you see on these streets. There were some actors, also, that were used as extras. Besides, the dancers came from Los Angeles, and, as Imentioned before, we were on tour. Two male dancers were added to the four that regularly tour with me. And well, what else can I say? The choreography was done in Argentina. We used all kinds of equipment, cameras. We taped this video in a day and a half. And,we were also taping the video for Y Tú Te Vas, the other video that was also done in Argentina. But Torero was a dynamic video. There is a little of acrobacy, jumping over cars. But this video was very successful in Spain, and now also here.

- GREAT APPLAUSE FROM THE AUDIENCE -

PEDRO: I'd like to take this moment, before you leave...

- THE AUDIENCE REACTION: NO! NO! NO! -

PEDRO: No, but wait! He'll be back a little later in the program.
Chayanne, will you sing for us again?

CHAY: Yes, of course!

PEDRO: There, calm down. I'd like to make a gift to you....

- PEDRO HANDS CHAYANNE A BOTTLE OF AN ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGE (WHISKEY ?) -

CHAY: I'll be back if I don't drink this....

PEDRO: You can use this backstage to get your throat ready, like all singers do. This is a work of art from the crop fields. This is a gift that we present to you with much affection. For you, Pisco Mistral.

CHAY: Don't tell anybody, but I like a little....a few drops....

PEDRO: Well, you'll like Pisco Mistral more, much more.

CHAY: Thank you very much.

PEDRO: I'd like to show you a video of our next guest. I believe he was visiting your country. He's the youngest preacher in the world. He's an evangelical preacher. He's from Perú and his
name is Nazareth Castillo. Let's look a these images...

- A SHORT VIDEO OF THE YOUNG PREACHER IS SHOWN -

PEDRO: Chayanne, I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce to you our next guest. Let's give a nice welcome to De Pé A Pá, to the world's youngest preacher, Nazareth Castillo.

- THE YOUNG BOY WALKS ON STAGE AND CHAYANNE
GREETS HIM AND KISSES HIM ON THE CHEEK -

PEDRO: - ASKING THE YOUNG BOY: Do you know Chayanne?

YOUNG BOY: Yes. He's very famous in my country.

PEDRO: And do you sing as well as he does?

CHAY: ADDRESSING THE YOUNG BOY: You ought to say, "I sing better than he does."

PEDRO: Chayanne, we will see you in a little while?

CHAY: Of course! Thank you very much!

- CHAYANNE THEN EMBRACES PEDRO, KISSES THE YOUNG
BOY, AND WAVES TO THE AUDIENCE, WHO IS STILL
SHOUTING: NO! NO! NO! -

PEDRO: He'll be back. We promise. Chayanne will be back.

- CHAYANNE IS BACK ON STAGE. PEDRO APPROACHES HIM -

PEDRO: Did you enjoy the evening?

CHAY: I had a wonderful time. Great time.

PEDRO: You promised us...you promised us another song.

CHAY: Of course! Of course!

PEDRO: Are we ready?

CHAY: With all the pleasure in the world!

PEDRO: Yo Te Amo, is the name of this next song?

CHAY: Pedro, this is truly emotional for me. Even if it were only one copy, because the love the people have shown me, is very special. I've been coming to Chile for many years, and what I've always received from the people, is an immense affection. They are wonderful hosts, I've always said, and they have givenme tremendous love. Truly, thank you very much.

PEDRO: Now we are ready.

CHAY: Let's do it!

PEDRO: I'll keep this for you - THE PLAQUE - and I'll give it you at the end.

CHAY: Thank you.

PEDRO: Now, here he is. Chayanne!
