We had the opportunity to converse with the Puerto Rican singer Chayanne, and he spoke to us about his year end in the company of his parents, wife and children, on the Island of enchantment.

How are your parents?
“Fine, now my mother is healthy after overcoming some illnesses, and now she is strong. In December, we had all the family together and it was fantastic".

Do you plan to leave the beard in this new year?
"No it's only for comfort. Also, it was discussed to take something new to the public, it's comfortable, but I don't plan to keep the beard".

What are your goals for 2003?
"I want to continue increasing the acting part, to do more music and movies, to reach more countries. I'm hungry and I wish to do many things".

Perhaps, already they have propelled you to return to acting?
"They have called me from Mexico to do a soap opera, and here in the US for an American series, but I will only do that when I finish promotion of the record".

Has it ever been brought to your attention to do something different, for example, to compose?
"Yes, I would like to but time absorbs me and I haven’t been able to. Of course I have written some words on paper, but not a complete song”.

How are you able to continue singing with so much rhythm?
“I’m capable of doing a show with a lot of dance and another show with only romantic ballads, perhaps I will change more later on, but I hope to be dancing all my life. As time goes by, once in a while I lean more towards playing the guitar only instead of dancing, but even so, I believe I’ll be able to continue with some type of movement, since I try to stay fit. I’m going to the gym, I do weights,I run, I enjoy sports very much but especially tennis and basketball. Also, I’m very careful with my nutrition”.

Does your wife help you in that?
“Of course, she supports me totally, she’s my advisor; she knows everything about me,she doesn’t watch over me, we have been together for 10 yr. of complete happiness and she is very understanding of my career and with me, of course”.

Do you have many faults?
Maybe for my frankness, and for the same pressure of my career. I’ve hurt some people, but always without wanting to, and because I’m tough on myself the same way”.

But you also have virtues.
“Simply, I love and protect much to people what is mine”.

In the spa embellished by Alexis, the singer had the satisfaction of receiving a special treatment for his hair, nails, beard, and the whole body in general.
