CHAYANNE PERFORMS IN OUR COUNTRY

“ARGENTINA HAS ALWAYS OPENED ITS DOORS FOR ME”

-NICE AND SEDUCTIVE AS ALWAYS, THE SINGER FROM PUERTO RICO IS WITH US IN HIS MOST IMPORTANT VISIT-

It seems Chayanne has definitely won over the Argentine public. His two shows at Vélez are proof of that. They threaten to be the most attended of the year. After releasing his greatest hits album, SINCERO, the singer will begin his first tour through the interior of the county with concerts in Salta, Córdoba and Mendoza. And to satisfy his acting bug, he made room to participate in an episode of series, The Nanny.

Always nice and very happy about his present success, he answered every question about his visit to our country, his album and why he feels like one of the locals in Argentina.

HOW WILL YOU PREPARE FOR YOUR LARGEST PRESENTATION IN OUR COUNTRY?

“I think it will be an unforgettable experience. Argentina has always opened its doors for me since the beginning of my career and that’s why I’m nervous. I’ve been told the first show is already completely sold out, and I hope someone shows up for the second one,” he said laughing.

WHAT EXPECTATIONS DO YOU HAVE ABOUT THE SHOWS?

“Exactly what I’m looking for is to fill the people’s expectations. I want them to leave satisfied and to enjoy and dance with my music. There’s a little uneasiness, but what we always look for in our group, is to succeed in doing the best possible show.”

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN PERFORMING IN SUCH A LARGE STADIUM? ARE THERE ANY SURPRISES INVOLVED?

“It’s different than doing a show in a theatre. I want is to reach every person in the stadium. There will be so many people, and I want to reach every one in attendance. And about what is new, this show will include a little bit of rock.”

YOU WILL BE PARTICIPATING IN A TELEVISION PROGRAM?

“Yes, in The Nanny. The production people have been communicating with me for a while. They’ve been great and told me I could do it whenever my schedule and time allowed it. So now, of course, I’ll be happy to do it.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE PROGRAM?

“That is a situation comedy, very funny and successful. I’ve heard a lot of positive comments about the people who work in this program and I hope I can do a good job and I’m glad they invited me to be in it.”

WHAT CHANGES HAVE OCCURRED FROM THE BEGINNING OF YOUR CAREER AS A SOLOIST, TO THIS “SINCERE” CHAYANNE?

“There have been many changes, of course. I’ve experienced a great evolution, as a human being and as an artist. I’ve been able to surpass all the obstacles I’ve encountered and as I said, I’ve experienced an evolution in many aspects; as a dancer, a singer and also as a person. The feeling I have when I look back is that everything has been changing for the better.”

ARE YOU PLANNING TO RETURN TO ACTING?

“I’m very busy with my music for now. I’ve been focusing all my energy on that. It’s possible that in the near future I will act again, but it’s not in plans for now. I’ve also received other offers to participate in other programs but I don’t have the time. If I had come on a promotional tour, I would have had more time.”

WHAT IS YOUR AGENDA IN OUR COUNTRY?

“After I record the episode for The Nanny, I’m leaving for Salta to do a show and to get to know a little of Tilcara’ I’ve been told it’s a beautiful place. We then have a presentation in Tucumán and the we come back here to do….two stadiums! (He says proudly, not able to hide his pleasure.) Afterwards, we go to Villa María, Mensoza, and then I continue with my tour in Chile.”

WHY DID YOU TITLE YOUR ALBUM “SINCERO”?

‘It carries that name because it truly is a sincere album; it was done that way. What I do when I’m going to give an album a name is to look for a word that is going to enclose the concept of the work. In the song, UN SIGLO SIN TI, there is the word sincere, and I liked it as a title.”

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO BE APART FROM YOUR FAMILY FOR SO LONG?

“It breaks my soul to be apart from my family, but this is my job and that’s they way my life is. That is the price you pay for doing what you enjoy, and my family and I accept it. Fortunately, I have unconditional support from them. My family is the most important thing in my life, that’s why, when I’m not touring, I dedicate all my time to them. My wife is very understanding.”
