Welcome to the Reading Room. This room is for Chayanne fans who are new poets and writers, or fans, that have begun to share their works with us. We will share their works with them, and watch and enjoy their growth as writers and poets. When each writer or poet, has at least 4 renderings, they will then receive their own Library Room, here at the La Isla de Chayanne Biblioteca. ¡Disfruta!
We will also learn a little about Chayanne's favorite author, Gabriel García Marquez. We even have a short story of Señor Marquez for your reading pleasure.
When life had become hard
And loneliness and sadness shadowed me
I found you, my sanctuary
When I struggled to discover who I was
And where do I go from here
I looked to you, my sanctuary
When fear gripped me
And memories flooded my soul
I looked to you, my sanctuary
Frightened but determined
I began to emerge with quiet resolve
Knowing you were there for me, my sanctuary
You offered to me the gift of contemplation
To help me re-direct my life
Always dwelling in you, my sanctuary
And when life begins to ask too much of me
When I need strength, love and encouragement
I retreat unto you, my sanctuary
As I ponder those things the heart holds
I find you have set me on a path
A path I cannot control
Estranged from feelings lost for so long
I have fallen in love with a people, a country
A language, a song
You have stirred in me passions long hidden
Dreams and desires long forbidden
You calmed the tempest that was raging in me
Opening my heart to all the possibilities
Where this path leads me I do not know
But you have given me joy for the journey
And I will look back only to grow...
